Craftmanship
At Blue Stained Roots, we believe every piece of furniture tells a story — not just through its design, but through its materials and the hands that shape it. Here’s how we craft heirloom-quality pieces, from the ground up.
Our Proprietary Resin Finish
We’ve developed a custom resin finishing process that’s as durable as it is beautiful. Each furniture piece begins with all natural cracks and imperfections filled with black resin — preserving their character while creating a smooth, sealed surface.
The wood is either stained or left natural, then coated with a full pour of transparent resin to lock in its grain and color. Our final touch is a hand-buffed satin or matte finish that’s water-resistant and tough. If any wear happens, it can be lightly sanded and repaired without refinishing the whole surface.
Hand-Selected Raw Materials
Our wood is harvested from private land in Colorado and chosen piece by piece for its grain, color, and character — the result of pine beetles, nature’s unintentional artist.
Once harvested, we mill each log by hand and decide its role: table top, bench, leg, or sculptural accent. We let the wood guide us, honoring its individuality in every form we craft.
The Curing Process
Our wood is cured for 24–36 months in moisture-free, covered storage. This natural aging process minimizes movement, cracking, and warping, ensuring long-term structural integrity.
Starting with the best raw materials is the key to furniture that lasts a lifetime — and beyond.
